โ€œAnyone who studies Halachot every day is guaranteed that he is destined for the world-to-comeโ€ (Megilla 28b, Niddah 73a)

Question:

Until when does one have to read Shenayim Mikra Vโ€™echad Targum for the week?

Answer:

Preferably, shenayim mikra should be completed before attending synagogue on Shabbat morning, [1] or at least before one starts the meal after Mussaf. [2] If that is not possible then one should finish before Mincha on Shabbat. [3] If one still could not do so, one may complete it until the end of the third day of the following week. [4] If one still has not finished reading the parashah, one may technically still fulfill the mitzvah until Shemini Atzeret, but one should not initially push off doing so until this time. [5] Nonetheless, as we've mentioned when we first started discussing the topic of Shenayim Mikra Vโ€™echad targum one should be very careful with this mitzvah as the Gemara (Berachot 8a) states that one who reads shenayim mikra vโ€™echad targum along with the tzibbur is granted long life. Who doesn't want a long life?! ๐Ÿ˜
