The Daily Halacha Moment - Driving To The Hospital On Shabbat
״כל השונה הלכות בכל יום - מובטח לו שהוא בן העולם הבא״ (נידה עג ע״א, מגילה כח:)
“Anyone who studies Halachot every day is guaranteed that he is destined for the world-to-come” (Megilla 28b, Niddah 73a)
Question:
Who can drive an expecting woman to the hospital on Shabbat?
Answer:
If possible, a woman who is giving birth should use a non-Jewish driver to drive her to the hospital. [1] However, if having to find a non-Jewish driver will stall her from getting to the hospital, then even a Jew may and should drive her there. [2]
