The Daily Halacha Moment - Moving & Sefirat HaOmer🏡
״כל השונה הלכות בכל יום - מובטח לו שהוא בן העולם הבא״ (נידה עג ע״א, מגילה כח:)
“Anyone who studies Halachot every day is guaranteed that he is destined for the world-to-come” (Megilla 28b, Niddah 73a)
Question:
May one move into a new house during Sefirat HaOmer?
Answer:
Interesting question. One may enter a new house during the omer period and does not need to push it off to after Lag BaOmer. One may also paint and renovate his home during the omer period, even if he is not yet living in it. [1]
Similarly, one may have a chanukat habayit and recite divrei Torah, sing with one's mouth and the proper tikkun for it which is a Seudat Mitzvah, especially in Eretz Yisrael. [2]

The reason why this is different from the 3 weeks is because the 3 weeks is a greater time of mourning since the Bet Hamikdash was burned. See footnote in Chazon Ovadia, Yom Tov, p. 269.
